A Second Chance for Rose
Rose is a mother of four determined to rebuild her life after a difficult period that left her children without stable care. In June 2025, she was arrested following a disagreement with a neighbour and remained in detention for over four months.
When Rose came into contact with Justice Nest, our team intervened to support her case. Through Alternative Dispute Resolution, we facilitated an out-of-court settlement, helping to resolve the matter and enabling her to return home to her children and begin rebuilding her life.
After a difficult period that led to her separation from her children, Rose returned home to face an even harsher reality, her children had been left without stable care, relying on the kindness of neighbors and well-wishers to get by.
That moment became a turning point.
Today, Rose is raising her four children with renewed purpose. Three of them are in school, and despite limited and unpredictable income from casual work, she is doing everything she can to keep them there.
In a powerful step toward change, Rose made the difficult decision to leave behind environments and relationships that had previously influenced her negatively. She relocated within her community to create a safer, more stable space for herself and her children.
When Justice Nest visited, Rose was calm, focused, and hopeful. She spoke openly about her journey, one marked by pain, resilience, and a deep commitment to doing better for her family.
A simple welfare package provided during the visit brought visible relief and joy. Beyond the material support, it was a reminder that she is not alone.
Rose’s greatest concern now is school fees. Like many parents rebuilding after hardship, she faces the daily challenge of choosing between immediate needs and long-term opportunities for her children.
Yet, her determination is unwavering.
With continued psychosocial support and modest assistance for her children’s education, Rose is on a promising path, not just to stability, but to transformation.
